Ryo Yamashita has trained as a Designer/Director with projects including design exhibitions/events and artist/company consultants. His work experiences were widely from design exhibitions management (Design exhibitions in Tokyo, Young artists support projects in London, Tokyo Designer’s Week management in Tokyo) to cultural design research projects ( ‘iconoclasm.jp’, exhibition and critical workshop in London Design Festival 06).
Currently, he is located in Tokyo where he has worked full-time for Musashino Art University Design Lounge as a Assistant Director to promote design related activities and reaserch cultural impacts of Creative Industry, and also operate his own creative unit to research new types of approaches with creative method. Peviously, he belonged to Musashino Art University as a Research Associate to research the methodology of cultural enterprise and aspects of Cultural Industry in Japan.
In order to develop his theory ‘value visualization’ , he shifted his work place from Tokyo to London. During the days in London, he made highly success achievements in research and design projects.
After graduating his Master Degree from Enterprise and Management for the Creative Arts (Emca) at The School of Marketing, London College of Communication, he worked at Tokyo Designer’s Week and 100% Design Tokyo exhibition as one of the Exhibition Management team and a Graphic Designer.
